Ideas management as a model for success

JUMO rewards clever employees

Ideas management continues to be a success story at JUMO GmbH & Co. KG continues to be on the road to success. In the Corona Year 2020, almost 200 employees again participated with just as many ideas. The three most successful suggestions were honored during a small ceremony.

"JUMO can be very proud of the fact that, despite the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, our employees are working with creativity and drive on the further development of the company," emphasized Managing Partner Bernhard Juchheim. The participants in idea management are real role models and make an important contribution to increasing competitiveness, he added.

JUMO human resources manager Alexandra Dantmann drew a positive overall balance of ideas management last year. "196 employees participated in the company suggestion scheme in 2020 and submitted almost 193 suggestions. A large proportion of all the suggestions submitted were acknowledged." Thomas Müller, Chairman of the Works Council, was also impressed by the number and quality of the suggestions.

"By implementing the ideas, JUMO was able to save over 300,000 euros in costs last year," said a pleased Monika Thom, Head of Ideas Management at JUMO. The ideas competition among trainees, which was held for the first time, was also very well received. "The fact that we also won two awards at the prestigious German Ideas Management Award 2021 shows that we are on the right track," added Monika Thom.

At a ceremony, awards were presented to the three most successful ideas, which saved around 45% of the total amount. Christina Scheer and Michael Diegelmann took first place, receiving an award. Their proposal to switch a large proportion of invoicing from postal to e-mail delivery saved almost 70,000 euros last year.

Second place went to a team of four employees who worked across departments to develop a pioneering temperature measurement product in the direction of Industry 4.0, which has now even been protected by a utility model. Third place went to Daniel Bosold and Florian Ebert, who put a production plant that had already been written off to a new use and were thus able to reduce the manufacturing costs of a product.
