The new instrument series is available in 4 variants: JUMO dTRANS pH 02 – pH-measurement with glass and ISFET sensors, redox measurement, NH3 measurement JUMO dTRANS CR 02 – conductivity measurement with conductive two-pole and four-pole sensors, resistance measurement in ultra-pure water JUMO dTRANS AS 02 – 0/4 - 20 mA signal input for sensors with a standard signal output, such as chlorine, chlorine dioxide, ozone and hydrogen peroxide sensors, level probes, pressure measuring instruments JUMO dTRANS Ci 02 – conductivity measurement with inductive sensors
The high-contrast, backlit, graphical LC display makes the measurement values easy to read. They can be displayed as a digital, numerical value, as a bar graph and as a graphical trend curve.
Thanks to the plain text navigational structure, operating the
instrument is simple and safe. The instrument can be set to many
European languages (including Russian). There is a user-friendly PC
setup program for easy configuration and data exchange.
In addition to the measurement input for an analysis variable, the
instruments have a temperature input for Pt100, Pt1000 or NTC as
standard. Besides, there are always two freely-programmable changeover
relays available. On top of the standard inputs and outputs up to three
more input or output modules can be connected.
The programmable higher order control functions are P, PI, PD and PID
action (pulse length and pulse frequency output). Other possibilities
include limit monitoring and modulating controls for opening and closing
valves.
Thanks to this modularity, multi-channel measurements are possible, such
as the simultaneous measurement of the pH value, temperature and
chlorine concentration, or two pH or two conductivity measurements. An
integrated math module allows the input signals to be linked.
Digital interfaces such as PROFIBUS-DP and Modbus (RS 422/485) are available for connection to a higher-level control system. Various functions can be assigned to the two binary inputs that are available as standard (such as triggering hold mode and manual mode, inhibiting the keyboard, switching measurement ranges, switching controller parameters and level inhibiting).
Versions with wide-range power supply units are available for
international use (20 - 30 V AC/DC or 110 - 240 V AC). A supply voltage
output is integrated in the device for two-wire sensors. C UL approval
enables the instruments to be used in the USA and Canada.
As well as all the classical options for a liquid analysis controller
and transmitter, some useful new special functions have been
implemented, which are unique for such a compact device:
Flow-rate measurement
In addition to the analytical measurement variables, the instrument can
record flow-rate quantities in parallel via a standard signal input or
binary input (pulse counter for impeller sensors, for example). This
flow-rate measurement can be used as a disturbance variable for a
control system. The flow-rate quantities can also be selected as a
display value, with a daily and cumulative value and can trigger alarm
or switching functions.
Data logger
A board option upgrades the device with a data logger, including a
real-time clock. Up to four analog measurement variables and eight
binary signals can be logged. Depending on the configuration, recording
can span from twelve hours to around 150 days. Data can be read out and
graphically displayed by means of the PC setup program. It is possible
to export the data to Microsoft Excel©, for example.
Logbook function
Chemical sensors require regular calibration and important characteristics, such as the zero point, slope and relative cell constant, are stored in a logbook. This allows the user to assess the state of the sensor (ageing, predictive maintenance).
Washing contact
If there is a risk of measurement error because of pollution and
contamination, it is possible to set time-controlled activation of a
rinsing device on a probe fitting.
Reliable pH measurement
To increase operational reliability for the important analysis variable
of pH measurement, it was made possible to monitor the impedance of the
glass and reference sensors online. Chemical attack, glass breakage and
pollution can then be detected.
Conductivity/resistance
The JUMO dTRANS CR 02 conductivity measuring instrument can also be used
in the ultra-pure water systems of the pharmaceutical industry. All the
relevant methods of temperature compensation are included: without
compensation as per USP (United States Pharmacopeia), purified water to
European Pharmacopeia standards (Ph. Eur.), linear, ASTM neutral, acidic
and alkaline and natural water to EN 27 888, etc. In addition to this,
non-linear temperature coefficients can be automatically determined by
the instrument in a special procedure, and stored as a non-linear curve.
The JUMO dTRANS instrument series can be used in a wide variety of
different industries (apart from in hazardous EX atmospheres).
Possible sample media / areas of application
Drinking and bathing water, waste water (communal/industrial), process
and rinsing water (for example from electroplating plants,
neutralization plants and detoxification plants), pharmaceuticals,
biotechnology, semiconductor production, the food sector, power plant
technology and more besides.
